2009
International Women's Day (United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace) takes place on March 8th each year.
Women all over the world celebrate this day in many ways.
This year (2009) my colleague Alison Blunt and I decided to mark the
ocassion by putting on a concert at the Cafe Oto in Dalston (London).
Thanks to the wonderful imput of the artists, the concert was a tremendous success. We now hope to build upon this in 2010 by inviting a few international artists and (possibly) widening the musical remit to include other genres.
