The United Nations Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UNA-UK) is the leading independent authority on the UN in the UK.
UNA-UK is a non-governmental organisation whose aim is to promote, support and improve the work of the UN in the pursuit of peace, protection of the environment, advancement of human rights and overcoming poverty and illness.
It is a UK-wide membership organisation consisting of individuals of diverse ages, backgrounds and interests.
Branches from across the UK hold regular meetings and many intersperse these meetings with;

Organising public meetings to inform people about the work of the UN and related issues of national & international affairs;

Supporting activities in local schools & colleges which inform young people about the work of the UN;

Fundraising to support organisations that are working to promote the aims of the UN;

Urging the government to support the UN and to support reform of the UN in order to improve its effectiveness;

Encouraging members to support UN and UNA campaigns;

Encouraging good relations between people of different nationality.
